It’s Awards Season (Blog Style)Posted: November 29, 2012
Wow . . . what’s better than Christmas? Here’s the answer: Blog Awards Season. So you don’t get any actual presents (really?), but you do get love from your fellow bloggers, and there is nothing better than getting love. Unless, perhaps, it is the giving of love . . . to your fellow talented, entertaining, inspiring, and just flat out fabulous bloggers.
So earlier this week I got a very exciting comment from my blog friend Lucky Leo telling me that she had nominated me for Blog of the Year. I had no idea there was such a thing.
The ‘rules’ for this award are simple (and I like simple!):
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award.
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!).
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.
5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience.
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
How fun is that? So here are my nominees . . . the envelope please . . .
Blogging for Beginners — this site belongs to Holly A. Phillips; she taught an LSU Leisure Class on blogging that my human mommy attended; my human came home and taught me everything she had learned, and now I have a blog!
The Daily Golden — my source for all things Golden Retriever
Love Always, Bear — the adventures and antics of the luckiest Golden Retriever in the world (you’ll know what I mean when you see his pictures)
slowgirlfastdog — what’s not to like: she drinks wine and mini-tinis (my human mommy loves that), she is a runner (my human daddy loves that), and she is devoted to her Whippet puppy, Finn (I love that) . . . plus, she is very funny!
Twelofson — my friend Miss Gaye introduced my human mommy to this one; Tracey was diagnosed with ALS a little over a year ago; she blogs about her faith, her family, and her journey (plus, she loves her dog)
What an amazing community this blog world has brought to me. I am truly thankful for all of my contacts, and I hope that I can spread as much joy and inspiration as I receive. This is a pretty fun gig for a Golden Retriever!
