Instagram September Photo Challenge: Day 30-Selfie
Hello. My name is Harper Lee, and I’m obsessed with Instagram. There. I said it. About two months ago, my blogging friend at oh melvn (and yo jake) published a post that featured absolutely beautiful and very funny Instagram photos of her extremely entertaining dogs. That was it. I had to be on Instagram. I created an account (with a little help from my human mommy) and I was hooked. Go ahead and visit Melvin and Jake on Instagram @tholupka_ohmelvin. If you’re not already on Instagram, you’ll want to be there after seeing the antics of these two!
Instagram Pet October Photo Challenge
So it all started very slowly and innocently, and then at the end of August I discovered the daily photo challenge. Uh oh. I was getting in deeper. I’m about half way through my second daily photo challenge month–the Pet October Photo Challenge–and I am having a blast.

Sometimes the challenges can be challenging in more ways than one, like when the theme of the day was “Play Time” and I stubbornly refused to play, no matter how many toys Mommy through my way.

And then there are those unexpected special days when Mommy gets a picture she really, really loves, like this one of me sharing a pear with my human daddy for the “Treats” day challenge.
Instagram Account @kimmie_wimmie
As if posting my own photos wasn’t addictive enough, I started discovering more and more irresistible accounts. I simply cannot get enough of the gorgeous Golden brother and sister @kimmie_wimmie. Every time I see an Instagram photo of these two playing, I want to jump into the phone and romp around with them. I’ve just found the Instagram account of @peggyfitz1. If you want to see breathtaking photos of nature–with an occasional Golden Retriever or horse thrown in there–you must visit this account.
Instagram Account @johnanng Remembering Bear & Thinking of Me
Just when I thought my obsession with Instagram couldn’t possibly become any greater, I saw this last Saturday morning. My sweet friends @johnanng remembered precious Bear and thought of me on a morning visit to Cocoa Beach by the Atlantic Ocean. Just think about it: Instagram joined Bear–a Golden boy who loved the Pacific Ocean–and me–a Gulf Coast Golden girl who is still waiting for her first beach trip–right there at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean . . . and cute Carter’s paw prints and photo bomb were a beautiful bonus.

I’m so happy your mom found Instagram. I love all your pictures. You look gorgeous in every single one of them. I hope they don’t find a cure for your Instagram addiction 🙂
What a coincidence. I too found @kimmie_wimmie account and took me like 4 hours to go through each single pictures because I was reading all the comments too. Sadly, I don’t have a device to create an account in Instagram so I can’t leave messages. But they are gorgeous.
I think you’re obsessed, too. 🙂 But I can completely understand getting lost in @kimmie_wimmie photos and comments. Those dogs are beautiful and she has the best responses to comments. I think you should continue to enjoy. 🙂
Oh Harper Lee… don’t get us started! We actually went the opposite direction than you. We started out on Instagram then went to Facebook and now have our own blog. And as you know we have also done the September and now October photo challenges. (BTW… should we create our own November one?) If our mom isn’t on her phone obsessively, she’s on the computer… and then of course her phone is always in our faces. Last year I was forced to be a pumpkin and I hated it, so I also am dreading “costume” day. I think we’re going to skip doing a November challenge (my humans are going on vacation without me; horrible humans!), but maybe it would be fun to come up with a December challenge. Let’s think about it. 🙂

I know. They’re really horrible humans. They were going to take me to the beach for my first time ever, and then they decided to run off to some tropical islands without me. Not one bit fair!

There are just way too many things to be on and involved in these days…hard to keep up with it all! You look great in your photos, though!
Mommy has had to give up housework and cooking to keep up with it all. That will probably have to come to an end soon. 😉

Mommy says you better stop because I’m getting a big head. 🙂 By the way, my humans are headed to Oxford this weekend to watch the mighty LSU Tigers take on the Old Pi$$ Rebels. You’ve never seen so much purple and gold (and alcohol) getting ready to go into suitcases!

I love the pictures! I’m not an Intagram user. I am obsessed with FB instead. I might give it another try. Your pics are really cool.
So glad you like the pictures! Mommy has tried Facebook for me, but she’s not very good at it. (Maybe I need to get a new assistant. ;-)) But Instagram has a great little feature that allows you to simultaneously post your Instagram photos to Facebook and Twitter, so most of our photos end up there, too!

OMD Miss HL mom is slowly becoming addicted to Instagram too!! She resisted for a long time…saying it was only for hipsters and Apple fan boys butt she thought she’d give it a whirl and downloaded it last week and she LOVES IT!! And she LOVES that you are on it, you are one of the first accounts she followed.
She says thanks for all the new accounts to follow, she is going to look them up right away. We just LOVE the beach photos…we are dreaming of our first beach holiday too.

My mommy is so silly that she thought you had to have an iPhone to do Instagram, until the nice 20-something young man at the phone store gave her a little lesson in living in the 21st century! We are obsessed with IG too, Miss Harper Lee! The teenage human in the house thinks her mom is trying to act “young and cool” by doing instagram! HA! It’s pictures of other Goldens that we crave and we look forward each day to seeing Miss Harper Lee on IG!

“Young and cool” is an excellent goal! My human daddy just laughs when he looks at my mommy’s phone–it’s just one Golden picture after another after another . . . and she’s constantly saying to him, “Look at this” and shoving yet another Golden picture under his nose! 🙂

Since we got on Instagram around the same time as you did, we have loved connecting with you there. Bethany has tried really hard not to become obsessed though… and it’s hard because it is so fun!

I just love finding accounts with beautiful photos. Amazing how much beauty can be in one tiny picture. It’s like candy for your eyes. 🙂
I recently revived my Instgram account that I have had for a couple of years. I wish I could post pictures from my laptop because I don’t always remember to take them with my phone. I guess I have to play with it more. 🙂 I hope to figure it all out. Hopefully it will come easier to me than twitter…lol.

We are loving your Instagram pictures! Sometimes my mommy emails pictures from her computer to herself and then downloads them to her phone and posts them on Instagram. Trust me, if my mommy can figure it out, anyone can. 🙂
