“About” Facelift

I hope your holiday season was super and that 2014 is off to a tremendous start. A new year is all about new beginnings. It’s also about improvements. Take a look at the top right corner of this page. You’ll notice two little words up there: “About” and “Awards.” Some of my visitors have clicked on “About” to learn more about me . . . and when they did, I was totally mortified.
You see, my “About” page used to be a huge embarrassment. It said nothing about who I am. Did you ever wonder where I live? Nothing there would have told you. How old is little Miss Harper Lee? You never would have known from my “About” page. Were you interested in getting in touch with me? No help there.
Well, welcome to a new year, new beginnings, and improvements to my “About” page. Now you’ll know where I live, what I like to do, how old I am, how to get in touch with me, and more. Just click on “About” above or click here to go to my “About” page.
I have more plans for new beginnings and improvements to my blog. I’ve recently received some very nice award nominations from my friends, and for that I am extremely grateful. In the coming weeks, I’ll be acknowledging those award nominations and passing them on to my very talented and entertaining blogging friends. I’ll also be making some updates to my “Awards” page, because it could use a little facelift, too. But for now, all the holiday revelry and the “About” page fix-up have taken a bit of a toll on me, and I think it’s time for a nap.
Heelllooo Harper. I’ve been wondering where you went to. Good to see you my love! XOXO – Bacon
Thanks, Bacon. My blogging assistant/human mommy has been a bit of a pathetic worker lately; but I think I have her back on track now. 🙂
These holidays kind of got us *all* discombobulated didn’t they? XOXO – Bacon
Yes, and here’s a little secret for you: My human daddy, who usually travels during the week, has been home for two straight weeks, so Mommy has been thrown completely off of her game! But he gets back on a plane Monday and our lives will be back to “normal.”
Snorts. Mommy can so relate to that. Anything off kilter throws the entire family off. We can relate to this weekend. My Aunt Tina came home. We’re all playing catch up this morning. XOXO – Bacon
A blog is a bit like a work of art…always in progress. Have fun playing around with it and changing it to your liking!
You’re exactly right, Emma. It’s fun because you can make little (or even big) changes. It’s just a matter of getting that human assistant of mine to focus. 😉
Very nice job on your “about” page. Too bad about having both hip and elbow dysplasia. I am working on a series of posts about health screenings in dogs so I have been doing a lot of research. (OK it is muddling my mind a biit…lol) 🙂 I am glad you found something that is helping.
Thank you. Looking forward to reading your posts on health screenings. My humans have learned more than they ever cared to learn about hip and elbow dysplasia, but we do seem to have found a good mix of diet, supplements, exercise, and rehab for now. We know every day is a gift.
Looks good! Can’t wait to see other changes. Have a great day.
Thank you. Since it took may blogging assistant/human mommy more than a year to do my “About” page, I wouldn’t hold my breath on those other changes if I were you!
We think your about page is just perfect! Mom spent some time the other day updating her other blog (our cat blog) and has to work on mine soon! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Thank you so much, Dakota. We really have to stay on our humans to make sure they keep us current. 😉
Wow. Pretty in purple. You look like you are all ready for Mardi Gras but aren’t you a wee bit early?
Wags,
Ranger
I love purple. That’s my New Year’s Eve outfit, but I’m all ready for Mardi Gras. Carnival season starts January 6 and runs until Fat Tuesday–March 4 this year, so we’ll have an extra long time to celebrate!
Miss Lee you are beauwooowooootiful! I’m thinking of changing the look of my bloggy toowoowoooo, but Mama cannot decide what to dooowooowoooo! 😛
Thank you, Ku. Tell your Mama that sometimes you just have to jump in and do it. 🙂
Princess Harper Lee, you work too hard for your people (followers). Is nice to be part of your Kingdom.
Awwww. So sweet, but it’s not work. It’s a joy, especially when I know I am doing it for such nice people. 🙂
We’re about to take a click over there to check out your new and improved About page. What a great idea.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Thanks, Cupcake. Hope you like it!
Yay! Now we know all about you!
Monty and Harlow
Yay! Uh oh, I hope you still like me. 😉
Yay! Uh oh, I hope you still like me. 😉
Great job, Miss Lee! You’re right, we wanted to know more about you so it’s great you have that there now. I had no idea how old you were, and never would have guessed that you had dysplasia. I had read somewhere a while ago that the “about me” page was very important so I updated mine then. But there are still many, many more things I want to do to improve my blog too!
I love your “About Me” page. It’s the first thing I went to when you won Ku’s book. And about all the things we all want to do to our blogs . . . there’s always something!
Oh, thank you for saying that, that’s so nice! It made my day. 🙂
Looking forward to the changes! Lots planned here too in the new year! (including a better “about me” page!
New years are so much fun because they give humans a reason to get themselves motivated. 😉 Tucker and I will enjoy watching our mommies work!
Mommy says we need to make some changes to our blog too but sometimes it is just really hard to find the time to get everything done!
I know. All too often the “have to do” things get in the way of the “want to do” things. 🙂
What a beautiful girl! 🙂
Thank you!
