I Died and Went to Heaven

I don’t mean that literally. That’s just something that humans where I live like to say after they’ve eaten something that is out-of-this-world fabulous. The conversation sounds something like this: “Ellie Mae, did you taste that pecan pie?” “I sure did, Mary Beth. I thought I died and went to heaven.”
Well, this past Saturday I joined my humans for a morning coffee break at our neighborhood Starbucks . . . and I experienced my first ever Puppuccino. I thought I died and went to heaven. I’ve joined my humans before for casual weekend mornings at Starbucks, but usually I just lounge and observe while they indulge. This time was completely different. After my humans had finished eating whatever it was they were eating, my daddy disappeared back inside. When he emerged, I saw that he had a very small cup. He sat down and offered that very small cup to me.
Oh. My. Dog. That little cup contained pure bliss, which I later learned is technically called Puppuccino. It’s just a tiny squirt of whipped cream, and my new favorite humans at Starbucks offer it to their canine customers completely free of charge. It may very well be the best thing I’ve ever eaten.
I will be the very first one to tell you that Puppuccino is not the neatest thing you will ever eat. When I was at the height of my feeding frenzy (yes, I will admit that it was a bit of a frenzy), the Puppuccino was flying every which way. And I will also grant you that whipped cream may not be something that a dog should have on a regular basis. However, it is only a tiny amount. And, if you are blessed with humans like mine–who I truly think might have been drill sergeants in their previous lives–the walk to your local Starbucks, followed by the extensive stroll around the shopping area, and then concluded with the long walk back home should take care of any evils that the Puppuccino may have brought.
Let me just tell you that my first Puppuccino experience may have been the culinary highlight of my nearly five years of life. I know it’s not something that my humans will let me have very often, but I am now dreaming of my next taste of heaven. Yummy!

Well you lucky girl, didn’t know starbucks did that. I love starbucks so believe you would also. Great pictures pretty girl.
Mommy didn’t know about it until recently, and then she wasn’t sure what it was it how much it cost. Turns out it’s free whipped cream. Can life get any better than that? 🙂
Oh I know what you mean when my humans take Ol Cissy and I for a ride we always hope they do a drive through either the DQ where we get a tiny sundae with a tiny dogie bone or Tim Horton’s where they give you a dogie biscuit… Oh heavenly
We don’t have Tim Horton’s here, but I think I may start a petition to get one. I have three Golden doggy friends who drive to the bank with their human mommy and get dog treats from the bank teller. Lucky dogs!
Oh dear. That sounds heavenly. I wonder if they offer it to little piggies as a piguccino? Snorts. XOXO – Bacon
I have a feeling that if you showed up at the Starbucks drivethru in the Smartcar, those baristas would find some sort of special treat for you. 🙂
You really think so? I must try this. Oohh mom you want a coffee? XOXO – Bacon
And when you do, I insist that you share pictures. 🙂
Gotcha! I piggy promise. I’m hoping to get mommy to take me this weekend – maybe if there is no rain. XOXO – Bacon
That’s so wonderful! We had a malamute that was always trying to swipe my Starbucks. She would have thought that was the greatest special occasion treat!
My humans keep telling my that this is just for special occasions. I guess I’ll have to accept that. 😉
Have to say you had me terrified before I read this! So glad it was just Starbucks!! 🙂
Sorry for causing the fright. Maybe you should have a latte to calm your nerves!
Sounds like such a fun day! Wish we could share a Puppuccino and Vanilla Latte with you and your humans one day!
I’m very good at begging, so I am going to start begging right now for a road trip!
That is pawsome! You have to have some splurges in life…you only live once and unless you are seriously overweight or have health issues why not 🙂
I like the way you think, Emma. And trust me, my humans are normally uber strict with my diet and exercise. 🙂
LOVE your photos on FB n IG. Just remember you can’t have too much as Lots of SUGAR in that puppucino 🙂 Happy Tasty Tuesday. Golden Woofs
Thank you, Sugar. This was my first puppuccino in five years, and mommy will probably make me wait another five years for my second one. 🙂 Mommy’s a little strict when it comes to diet and exercise, and I love that about her. 🙂
Yummy!! I love the cream on your face too. Must have been marvelous!
It was all over me and all over my daddy by the time I finished. That’s how you know something’s really good!
Yes! My crew loves puppucinos! My grandmother is from southern Missouri. She has lived here in the Midwest for 55 years, and I still hear “southernisms” from her all the time.
I can’t believe how long it took my humans to discover puppuccinos. And I thought I had them well trained!
Oh Miss Lee, you look beauwoowooootiful with your whipped cream! Yumwumwumwumwum!
Thank you, Ku. It’s almost as if I was having a whipped cream facial. 🙂
Puppucinos! I never heard of that. Look at the deliciousness on your face!
Oh, Ruckus, you must add this to the list of treats you need to eat . . . and with your pretty white coat, the whipped cream won’t even show. 🙂
beautiful Ms. Harper!
That’s my happy puppuccino glow!
This is so adorable! I don’t think they have that here in NYC!
You need to ask. And if asking nicely doesn’t work, then bark loudly!
My eyes are about to bulge out of my face. How did I not know about this? I have to inform my humans stat!
I can’t believe I didn’t know about it sooner. Really, our humans need to be more aware of the great things that are out there for us. 😉
We will have to check our Starbucks and see if they offer Puppucinos! I know Bentley would LOVE it! We try to avoid Starbucks unless we are grocery shopping (one inside Kroger) because we drink waaaaay too much coffee to pay $$$ for each cup! LOL!!
On really special and really pretty days, my humans and I walk to our neighborhood Starbucks for breakfast followed by a little window shopping and a walk home. It’s a special occasion. 😉
OMG, Miss HL. You are hilarious all splattered with cream! You make that treat look SO delicious!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
My scarf had to do double duty as a bib!
That sounds amazing! I hope they do those in our local starbucks too!
If they do, my humans and I insist on seeing pictures of you enjoying your first puppuccino!
Harper Lee I agree that looks most delish your pictures speak volumes to your gleefulness.
Hugs madi and thanks for visiting me today
In this case, a picture really is worth a thousand words. 🙂
I’m SO happy to see that your parents treated you to a Puppuccino! Those are Daisy’s favorite and she always goes crazy when we hit the drive-thru at Starbucks, hoping she’ll get one. The girls who work there always offer…super sweet!
Awwww, that’s so great that Daisy has the baristas trained. 😉
Sounds yummy…and I agree, as long as you work it off, a little treat now and then is a good reward!
My humans believe in exercise and moderation, and I believe in rewards, so it works out pretty well. 😉
Oh wow! We have been 2 Starbucks snd have never ever gotten a puppacinno.
Retro rover
Well, it is definitely time to place an order on your next visit!
it is a real pleasure watch you enjoy that puppuccino so much
And it was an even bigger pleasure to enjoy that puppuccino!
LOL looks yummy and all over your cute face. 🙂
You can tell that a treat is really special when it ends up splattered all over your face!
That’s awesome – I had no idea Starbucks offered that!
I think it’s one of those top-secret-word-of-mouth sort of things. I guess I sort of let to puppuccino out of the bag. 😉
Mom says you and her are clearly kindred spirits (we have NO idea what that means)…she says you must think of her whenever you go to Starbucks…because she silently weeps most days remembering the warm, delicious goodness she and dada indulged in EVERY DAY while they were visiting the U.S. of A.
Seriously, could this woman get any more dramatic!!??
Wally & Sammy
Hey, Wally and Sammy, don’t tell your mom that I told you this, but I kind of think those people at Starbucks slip a little something into their drinks to hook the humans. And when your mom left the U,S, of A. to go home to you, she had to leave Starbucks cold turkey. She may need some time. 😉
oh wow – that’s great 🙂 i’m happy you loved your first puppoccino!!
I get to lick the plain nonfat yogurt out of the bottom of the cup when my mommy finishes her breakfast every day, so I was kind of expecting that. Wow, was this ever a pleasant surprise!
I must say I would be just as messy 🙂 we have Puppacinos at cafes all over here…and the patrons love them!! as with all things…moderation…..or beg 😉 hugs Fozziemum x
Speaking of begging, I think I might have seen my mommy begging for a little taste of my puppuccino. 😉
I bet she may have…looked pretty delish! 😉
That is so cool! We don’t have any Starbucks very close to us, but I might have some whipped cream in the refrigerator. I never would have thought of giving it to the dogs as a special treat, but we might have to try it!
Maybe on Saturday you and the dogs can have a Fantasy Starbucks morning. You can pour a cup of coffee for yourself (and put a crazy amount of money on the counter) and then you can squirt a little whipped cream into some paper cups, and then let the fun begin. 🙂
Good idea!!! 🙂
Bwah!!!! So glad you enjoyed it!!!!
I still dream about it every once in a while. 😉
Now you have got me thinking. I will bring each Sundog into town to test a puppochino…..or puppachino. Whip cream is well tolerated around here.
I think you should bring them all at once. I can just see the whipped cream flying. 😉
