Harper Lee from A to Z: M is for MOMMY
Posted: April 15, 2014 Filed under: Things I Like | Tags: #AtoZChallenge, Blogging, Dogs, Golden Retriever, Harper Lee, Pet Photography, Pets, Thek9harperlee 50 CommentsThis is my human mommy. She’s my behind-the-scenes blogging assistant. She’s only made an appearance on my blog once before, when we participated in the Meet the Bloggers blog hop. Daddy likes to say that Mommy is my constant. She’s always been there for me, and she says that she always will be there for me . . . and I believe her. When Mommy first met me, I was five weeks old. She didn’t fall in love with me immediately. That’s ok. I knew that she still had a soft spot in her heart for Talbot, the Golden Retriever who preceded me. I also knew that I would hook her; I just had to give her time. One week later, Mommy came for another visit. That’s when she fell madly and deeply in love with me. Two weeks later we became practically inseparable.
Mommy loves hugging and kissing me. I’m not super fond of hugs and kisses. I’m an independent spirit. But I always know where my mommy is, and I am always close by. I hope that Mommy and I will be close for years and years to come.

Miss Harper,
You’re both a made for each other.
Lot’s of Love and Hugs are good.
xo Cinnamon
I have to agree with you, Cinnamon. We really were made for each other. And I love the hugs, but does she have to do it allllll the time?
Miss Harper mummy is as beautiful as you…and yes it takes awhile..maybe three seconds to fall in love with a new pup…it’s hard to let go but always easy to bring a new love into your heart 🙂 hugs and loves Fozziemum xxx
There was a time when Mommy wished that Talbot could have lived forever, but now she realized that she never would have met me. You’re right, it is so hard to let go–and our four-legged friends don’t live nearly long enough–but new friends have a way of filling those deep holes in our hearts.
They sure do fill our hearts 🙂 we never forget and I think we actually find the memories coming more often 🙂
your mom is very pretty. I think you have to include her in some of your pictures from now on.
Thank you so much. I’m trying to convince both of my humans to come out from behind the camera more often, but they’re so shy . . . not at all like overly outgoing Golden Retrievers. 🙂
Wow we have something in common I have a blogging assistant withoutpaws..
What would we do without our assistants . . . and they work for free. 😉
What a super sweet and pretty Mommy you have! I remember her because I love her adorable hair 🙂
Awwww, thank you so much!
You and your mommy are so beautiful. I too hope you have many more years together sharing so much love.
Thank you. We make the most of every single day we have. 🙂
Miss Harper Lee you and your Mommy are both very beautiful ladies! Aren’t we lucky to have Mommies that love us tons?
Marty
We certainly are!
aaww – hello mommy! It’s good to meet and see you my friend. Signed – your #01 pig friend. XOXO – Bacon
I’ll bet my mommy is the only mommy in our neighborhood with a pig friend. She’s a lucky lady. 😉
Moms are the best!!!
Dad’s are pretty good, too; but mom’s are the best. 🙂
Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole! – looks like you two are wholesomely happy. (is that a word?)
Together, we really do make a whole. 😉
Your mom and you are perfect together, Miss HL. I think you can stay independent and still do hugging and kissing. I am a kissing cuddler, but not independent at all!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Sometimes Mommy really, really wishes that I were more of a kissing cuddler like you, Cupcake; but I am who I am, and Mommy loves me no matter what.
This is a really beautiful post. It made my Mommy cry. RosyPoodleKisses and MomHUG.
Awww, that is so sweet, Rosy. You and Annie have a very special mommy.
This is LOVELY!!!! M may end up being my favorite of all the letters!
Thank you so much. I have a feeling that Melvin and Jake would have blogged about mommy for M, too.
Beauwooowoooootiful Miss Lee and Mommy! Aren’t Mamas the bestest!?!?!?
The very bestest. And you are a lucky pup to have one of the bestest of the bestest for a mommy. 😉
Of course she fell under your spell! How could she not?
The Golden spell is mighty powerful!
Awwww, Miss Harper Lee, you have such a lovely mommy.. you are very lucky. She also seems to be very good at helping you blog! Cooper doesn’t love hugs and kisses either, but he rarely ever leaves my side. What a nice thing that is.
I’m like Cooper . . . always right by Mommy . . . and it truly is a nice thing for both of us. 🙂
Oh Miss HL what a sweet post. Your mummy looks just lovely, you carry on letting her give you those hugs and kisses it’s saying she loves you with lips and arms!
Hugs, Carrie (Myfie, Ellie and Millie) x
Thank you. Well, I guess since she doesn’t have a tail to wag, I should accept the lips and arms. 😉
Ha! Exactly, it’s just our 2-legged version of the same thing! ❤
So sweet and heartwarming. Same goes for us too- BBFF
And some people think we’re just man’s best friend. 😉
Very sweet. You are lucky to have such a wonderful mommy.
Thank you, and I have a feeling that the brown dawgs would have chosen Mommy for their M post, too. Wait a minute . . . they might have chosen Mallard. 😉
fun blog! love the name Harper Lee! I’m an A to Z minion/helper sauntering through the ‘net and checking blogs. Your blog looks wonderful.
Thank you for visiting, and thank you for the very kind words. Can’t begin to tell you how much I’m enjoying my first #AtoZChallenge!
OMD! Miss HL you and your mommy have the same coloured furs! You see, that just tells us that you were meant to be family. We think your mommy is as arooootiful as you are, clearly good looks run in the family.
Wally & Sammy
Shhhh . . . I’ll let you in on a little secret. My fur color is real. 😉 But I’m sure my mommy’s “Golden” head will get really big when she reads your kind comment. 🙂
Such lovely pics of you together xx
Thank you so much, Misaki. My humans are realizing that they have zillions–well, maybe just billions–of pictures of me, but very few pictures of me with them. They’re working on getting out from behind the camera more often.
Awww, sweet post. It’s nice to have a pup that is “independent but always close by”. That’s how Rita is too -she’s not a velcro girl, but we love to be together. I hope you’ll be together for many years to come as well!
Thank you, and I wish the same for you and Rita. 🙂
These pictures are perfect! The first “mother-daughter” picture is wonderful; the second one steals my heart. It’s the best “real” picture. I can almost read Miss Harper Lee’s thoughts: “Come on, Mommy, I posed really nice for the first one. Do you have to try to hug me…my friends are watching…cut it out, Mom!”
Thank you so much! Miss Lee is a very funny girl. She always wants to be near us–just has to know where we are every minute–but she can completely do without the clinging. 😉
