HL Does NOLA from A to Z: Q is for QUEORKPosted: April 20, 2016
Q is for Queork, a New Orleans-born store that sells everything you can imagine–purses, umbrellas, belts, aprons, shoes, bracelets and more–made from cork. Queork recently expanded its Big Easy presence from a store in the French Quarter to a second store on Magazine street.
The sign outside of the Magazine Street store says it all:
All-natural cork is Mother Nature’s leather and . . . it’s sustainable, waterproof, and stain resistant.
My human mommy has a Queork purse that she uses every single day during summer. She loves it. I’ve heard that Queork even makes dog collars, but for some reason I don’t have one of those yet. Something’s wrong with that . . . although I have a feeling I may be pleasantly surprised with one very soon.
Queork is a wonderful stop on your next New Orleans shopping spree. You’re sure to find a unique gift for someone at home . . . or a special something for yourself. The very nice lady at the Magazine Street store even invited me in for a visit and I got to sit on the beautiful cork-upholstered sofa. Wow! She said that cork is totally durable and dog friendly, plus it’s Golden Retriever-colored so it camouflages dog hair. You have to love that. I think I just might have a future career as a spokesmodel. What do you think?
