Allow me to state the obvious: This toy brings out the crazy in me. It’s a honey pot with three squeaky bumble bees inside. There are openings on either side of the honey pot that are the perfect size for a Golden Retriever snout to reach in and, well, retrieve those bees. Oh my gosh, I’m getting excited again just thinking about it.
This toy is made by the super clever people at ZippyPaws and was a gift to me from my handsome friend Miles who’s in management at Geaux Fideaux Pet Accessories and Bandanas. Miles gave me this great gift because 1) I’m The Bee and 2) I’m his honey. That’s right, boys, I’ve been spoken for by a Golden guy in management.
Back to the toy. The little bees are somewhat delicate (or maybe I’m more than somewhat rough with them; that’s probably it; I’ll admit it; I said this toy brought out the crazy in me, ok?), so they’ve undergone several surgeries at Squeaky Toy Hospital. They always make it back into the honey pot, though, and that makes me very happy because I love this toy.
So fun! This reminds me of my stuffed log with 3 stuffed squirrels inside… Plus some treats that Mom adds in.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I’m telling you, Cupcake, you have trained your mom to put treats in everything. Brilliant! Birdie and I fear that our mommy is not trainable.

My silkie terrier loved a similar toy that was a stump holding chipmunks. He loved those chipmunks, but not necessarily the challenge to get them out of the stump. He hid the stump and, well, we had to buy many a replacement of the mangled chipmunks. Out of concern for the neighborhood squirrels which drove this dog crazy, we finally stopped buying them, hoping to curb his desire to attack all the squirrels (didn’t work). We found a similar toy with brightly colored birds, but we didn’t want to encourage our dogs to see our parrots as flying toys, we couldn’t in good conscience buy those. We could totally get behind bees, though. Thank you for the idea!
Birdie has an intro to a leaf stuffed with ladybugs on Day 30. That might be an option too.

Aww, sweet Tallulah, honey pots are too sweet to totally chew up but I guess bees are fair game.
Only these little stuffy bees. I’m strongly encouraged *not* to go after the real deal. (Translation: Mommy freaks out when I try to catch real bees.)

Tallulah’s got a boyfriend! We need boyfriends too if it means getting cool stuff! XOX Xen, Lucy and Chia
You have to choose carefully when it comes to boyfriends. 😉

Lucy’s got her guy Achilles, who was caught watching Xena get her bath, so we know what you mean! XOX Xena and Chia
