Harper Lee from A to Z: C is for CHARIOT

I must respectfully disagree. This is my chariot, and it takes me to the most fabulous places: weekends in New Orleans and St. Francisville, walks around beautiful parks, visits with my human grandparents in Texas, trips to the LSU Vet School for rehab (the kind I do for my hips and elbows, not the Lindsay Lohan kind). Once I even traveled in my chariot to visit Santa Claus. Tomorrow you’ll get to see another place my chariot takes me. But do you want to know the best thing about my chariot? It comes with another C word: chauffeurs!

Harper Lee from A to Z: B is for BLING
Posted: April 2, 2014 Filed under: Things I Like | Tags: #AtoZChallenge, Bling, Blogging, Blogging from A to Z April Challenge, Dogs, Golden Retriever, Harper Lee, LSU, LSU Tigers, Marilyn Monroe, Pet Photography, Pets, Photography, Thek9harperlee 56 CommentsToday as we journey through the alphabet, I give you bling on a blue bench. Miss Marilyn Monroe was right: Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend. But why should the joy of bling be reserved for the human ladies? Sometimes a canine girl wants to wear a little something special too.
And I ask you, really, is there anything more fabulous than bling that celebrates my LSU Tigers? Especially when it’s on a blonde. (Did you catch that? I threw in another word that starts with B.) This beautiful (I did it again) bling was a gift from my Aunt Meredith, and I absolutely love wearing it. I lost it once when I was acting like a dog (oh the horror) in our back yard. Then, months and months later, my neighbor’s eye caught a sparkle from the “diamonds.” There’s nothing happier than a girl who has been reunited with her bling.

Harper Lee from A to Z
Posted: March 31, 2014 Filed under: Things I Like | Tags: Blogging, Blogging from A to Z April Challenge, Dogs, Golden Retriever, Harper Lee, Thek9harperlee 40 CommentsYou may or may not have noticed that I’ve been a little MIA the last week or so. Old Man Winter finally decided to make his exit and my human mommy (who also happens to be my blogging assistant) came down with a major case of spring fever, which for her means day after day of turbo-charged gardening. I’ve supervised all the activity from my perfect perch. She’s been pruning, planting, mulching, fertilizing, and watering. It looks to me as if she just about has all the major spring gardening projects wrapped up, so I think it’s time for Mommy to get back to her most important priority: me.
Beginning tomorrow and all through the month of April, I will be participating in the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge. That means that every day except Sundays for one entire month I will blog thematically from A to Z. More than 2,000 bloggers have taken the challenge. (I was the 2,001st blogger to sign up. You can click here to see the entire sign-up list and then click on any entry that looks interesting to be linked to that blog.) Are you curious to discover what I’ll write about when the letter I rolls around. Tune in Thursday, April 10, to find out. What about the letter Q or the letter X? Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 19, and Monday, April 28, and you might be surprised. I know it sounds like a lot of extra work for my assistant/Mommy, but most of the posts will be short (between 100 and 150 words) . . . and after all, I did just give her more than a week of “vacation.” See you tomorrow!
