Yesterday Tallulah introduced you to her Busy Bee Honey Pot. Today I get to introduce the Ladybug Leaf. Do I look a little perplexed in this photo? I can explain that. The Ladybug Leaf was Harper Lee’s toy. It was a gift from her beau, whose name just happens to be Beau. Beau works with Miles at Geaux Fideaux Pet Accessories and Bandanas. Beau chose the Ladybug Leaf for Harper Lee because Miss Lee was always a lady. Until today, only Harper Lee was allowed to play with the Ladybug Leaf.
My human mommy had to explain how this works. I watched as she stuffed three little ladybugs into the leaf. She showed me the holes on either side of the leaf. Can you see how hard I was concentrating? Then she looked at me and said, “Get it, Birdie!”
Well, she didn’t have to tell me twice. As I pulled that first ladybug from the leaf, I was a little more cautious, slightly slower, and immensely gentler than Tallulah with her honey pot bumble bees. I’m pretty excited about having more opportunities to play with the Ladybug Leaf. I promise to take very good care of this very special toy because it was a gift to Harper Lee, and Harper Lee was very special too.
Toy Introductions Day 29: The Busy Bee Honey Pot

Allow me to state the obvious: This toy brings out the crazy in me. It’s a honey pot with three squeaky bumble bees inside. There are openings on either side of the honey pot that are the perfect size for a Golden Retriever snout to reach in and, well, retrieve those bees. Oh my gosh, I’m getting excited again just thinking about it.
This toy is made by the super clever people at ZippyPaws and was a gift to me from my handsome friend Miles who’s in management at Geaux Fideaux Pet Accessories and Bandanas. Miles gave me this great gift because 1) I’m The Bee and 2) I’m his honey. That’s right, boys, I’ve been spoken for by a Golden guy in management.
Back to the toy. The little bees are somewhat delicate (or maybe I’m more than somewhat rough with them; that’s probably it; I’ll admit it; I said this toy brought out the crazy in me, ok?), so they’ve undergone several surgeries at Squeaky Toy Hospital. They always make it back into the honey pot, though, and that makes me very happy because I love this toy.
Toy Introductions Day 2: Will You Accept This Rose?

Hey, Birdie Blue here. I’m new to this whole blogging thing, so you’ll have to bear with me. Before I introduce the toy of the day, allow me to introduce myself. I joined the family in January 2021. I guess you could say I was a COVID puppy, but I was actually in the plans for a while. Tallulah’s sister, SoBe, is my mother, so that makes Tallulah my aunt and my sister, kind of. Only in the South, haha. My registered name is ParishLine’s That Tweet Chick is Trending, but you can call me Birdie…or The Bird…or Big Bird…or Little Bird…or, well, you get the idea. I loved Harper Lee very, very much. We used to play together all the time. I sort of worshipped her. Tallulah didn’t want to have much to do with me, and I gave Tallulah her space. I guess sisters can be that way sometimes. Things changed after Harper Lee crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Tallulah and I have become inseparable. Our humans call us the Bobbsey Twins. We play, and play, and play. I like to snuggle up next to Tallulah, and she’s ok with that. We both miss Harper Lee extremely, but I’m thankful to have Tallulah, and I think she’s thankful to have me. Enough of that. On to the Toy of the Day introduction.

Remember yesterday, when Tallulah told you that our toys have names? That’s not true in this case, but, as Mr. William Shakespeare once said, “That which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet.” Kind of blew your mind with my literary knowledge, huh? These roses were a gift from a couple of handsome Golden boys who run Geaux Fideaux, the place where we get our bandanas. Full disclosure, there used to be three roses, but Tallulah destroyed the pink one. She’s like that. Also, to all those people who ask our humans, “Do your dogs shed?” Yes, we do, all over the place and all the time, so please excuse all the dog hair on these roses. Have you seen “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” on tv? You know how sometimes those women practically fight each other to get a rose from the bachelor? Tallulah and I can be a lot like that with these roses. Who doesn’t want to be the girl who gets the rose? Better yet, who doesn’t want to be the girl in charge, the one who’s handing out the roses?
So, will you accept this rose, Golden Retriever hair and all?
Sunday Sisters: October 1, 2017

The first daily challenge is ideal for a couple of sisters: SELFIE. Tallulah and I grabbed our human mommy/blogging assistant’s phone (our credit’s not too good, so we don’t have our own phones) and channeled our inner Kardashians to get the perfect selfie. Tallulah might have taken it a bit too far by trying to do that whole selfie duck face thing, but I think I look pretty good. The right angle is soooo important when it comes to the perfect selfie. And our Geaux Fideaux bandanas lend a stylish autumnal touch.
Care to join us in the October Photo Challenge? Here’s the daily photo list. Start snapping . . . and happy October!
Countown to Christmas: Three More Days

Tallulah Bee and I have humored her, mostly because she bribes us with treats. In fact, we purposefully look away from the camera, move slightly, or close our eyes just as she snaps so we can get more treats. Shhhh . . . don’t tell her that. It’s our little secret.
Anyway, Mommy managed to get a few favorites along the way and today we begin the countdown to Christmas. The Bee and I are modeling our gorgeous Geaux Fideaux monogrammed bandanas. If you’re interested in getting your very own Geaux Fideaux original (they’re working on Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day looks), just send an Instagram direct message to @geauxfideaux.
We’re all smiles as we await Santa’s arrival!
