Our Little Champion

My little sister, Tallulah Bee, attended her first dog show this past weekend. Now before you get too excited, I said she attended her first dog show; she did not compete in her first dog show.

Tallulah and my humans went to the Lagniappe Classic Dog Show to see Tallulah’s littermate Sobe, who was competing for her final championship points, and their breeder Kelli from Rhythm Golden Retrievers.

Tallulah may not have been in the ring, but Kelli made her feel like a show dog. Tallulah got to go back to the holding area, visit with the competitors and their handlers, and hop onto the grooming table while Kelli gave her a Golden champion trim.

And then Tallulah (left) and Sobe joined Kelli outside for a little love fest . . .

. . . before posing for their “official” Lagniappe Classic Dog Show photo.

My sweet sister may not be a real show dog, but she’s our little Tallulah Bee CCG (Champion Companion Golden).

Sounds like she had a fun outing!

  6. How exciting! Tallulah and her sister are both gorgeous!

    • Awwww, thank you so much. We can’t say enough good things about their breeder. Kelli’s dogs are healthy, have excellent temperaments . . . and they’re all beautiful! Kelli is particular about where her dogs go, and she keeps up with her pups after they’re in their forever homes. Plus she’s really, really sweet. 😉

Tallulah is a winner, no matter if she is in the ring or not. And just wondering…did she get a special invite? Non-competing dogs aren’t allowed in the arena at our locale for the AKC dog show.

  8. Super fun adventure. Pretending to compete is just as fun as competing – without the pressure. All the star treatment without the work. Cool!

    Love and licks,

was Tallulah excited to see her litter mate? I took Dash to see his brother once and they went bonkers saying hello and playing. Dash even fell into the garden fountain at the house where his brother lived! Maybe Tallulah is better behaved !!??

    • The thought of Dash falling into the garden fountain made me giggle. 🙂 We’re very fortunate that Tallulah has been able to see her littermates several times. The four pups got together when they were six months old for a pool party at Sobe’s house. Two of the littermates (Sobe and Beaux) came to our house about six months later for a bar hop (the bar part was for the humans; the socializing was for the dogs 😉 ). And Sobe was here this past St. Patrick’s Day for our big neighborhood block party. I swear the dogs all remember each other. Sobe and Tallulah are just like real sisters when they first see each other. There’s a little snarling at first to establish territory, but then nothing but love.

I have never been to a dog show, but would love to attend one. Getting behind the scenes has to be even better!
